Kairo Looro Primary School Competition Project
The competition promotes a sustainable approach, incentivising research into architecture capable of offering a concrete response to climate change and humanitarian crises.
The project aims to create an interactive environment to promote creative and unstructured play for children, create engaging and dynamic learning environments that support holistic development. by embracing the principles of self-directed play, social interaction, physical activity, creativity, risk-taking, and inclusivity, contribute to the overall growth and well-being of children.
Flexible space organization without boundaries is the main principle set for this project. Permeable spaces support freedom of children and interactivity in the school which is important for children to learn from each other and act as a part of the society. All the functions have controllable/flexible access. Indoor and outdoor spaces visually and physically connected. There are no corridors between spaces which encourages movement and exploration. Instead of corridors, the project emphasizes the intersection of spaces, ensuring that each area is easily accessible from both the inside and outside which promotes a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
